Out of the miry clay…

“I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.” – Psalm 40:1-3

I love Psalm 40. Whenever I am having a difficult time with things, I can know that the Lord can handle it, whatever “it” is. He has lifted me up out of the miry clay…and I rest in the knowledge that He will continue to do so, no matter the mistakes I made/make/will make. I love that about our God.

“Whatever’s in front of me…I choose to sing ‘hallelujah…'”

Hello, blog world! On Monday, I had my six month follow up at my surgeon’s office. I can’t believe it’s already been six months since my surgery! The Lord is so good. At my appointment, they did an ultrasound on both sides of my neck to make sure that nothing was growing back…and I’m all clear! The artery where they had to sacrifice my external carotid artery looks good, too. I’m absolutely amazed at the faithfulness of God…isn’t He wonderful?

“Who can hold the stars, and my weary heart? Who can see everything? I’ve fallen so hard, sometimes I feel so far, but not beyond Your reach…Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Whatever’s in front of me, help me to sing ‘hallelujah’…Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Whatever’s in front of me, I choose to sing ‘hallelujah!'” – Bethany Dillon

The Lord’s Return…

“For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows.” – Mark 13:8

I saw the aftermath of the tsunami in Japan, and it broke my heart…it’s times like these when I am so thankful for the Lord’s promises…the Bible talks about the end times, and that there will be many natural disasters as it gets closer. I’m so glad that we’ve got the hope of heaven to look forward to. For the time being, I’m praying for the people of Japan, and that they’d find their hope in heaven as well.
